Citizenship by Investment in Spain

Spain does not have a formal citizenship-by-investment program. However, Spain does offer a residency by investment program called the Golden Visa. The Golden Visa allows non-European Union (EU) citizens to obtain residency in Spain by making a significant investment in the country.

Under the Spanish Golden Visa program, individuals and their families can qualify for residency in Spain by fulfilling one of the following investment options:

Real Estate Investment: Investing a minimum of €500,000 in real estate, either residential or commercial properties. The investment can consist of a single property or multiple properties.

Capital Investment: Making a minimum capital investment of €1 million in Spanish company shares or bank deposits.

Public Debt Investment: Investing at least €2 million in Spanish government bonds.

Business Investment: Creating a business project in Spain that is considered of general interest, such as those contributing to job creation, scientific or technological innovation, or socio-economic impact.

The Spanish Golden Visa allows investors and their family members to reside in Spain and travel within the Schengen Area without a visa. It does not provide immediate citizenship or permanent residency, but after holding residency for a certain period of time, individuals may become eligible for long-term or permanent residency.

It's important to note that the requirements and investment thresholds may be subject to change, so it is advisable to consult with specialized immigration firms or legal professionals for the most up-to-date information on the Golden Visa program in Spain.
