Citizenship by Investment in Austria

Austria: Austria has the Austria Citizenship by Investment Program, which allows individuals to acquire Austrian citizenship by making a significant entrepreneurial investment in the country. The program requires substantial investments and creates jobs in Austria.

As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, Austria does not have a specific citizenship-by-investment program that allows individuals to directly obtain citizenship through investment. However, Austria does have a program called the "Austrian Citizenship Act" that allows for naturalization based on a range of criteria, including investment and economic contributions. The requirements for obtaining Austrian citizenship through naturalization are as follows:

  • Residency: Applicants must have legally resided in Austria for at least 10 years. However, there are exceptions to this requirement for certain individuals, such as refugees or stateless persons.

  • Integration: Applicants must demonstrate a high level of integration into Austrian society. This includes proficiency in the German language, knowledge of Austrian history, culture, and legal system, and adherence to Austrian values and customs.

  • Income and Employment: Applicants should have a stable income and employment history, showing that they can support themselves and their dependents without relying on social assistance.

  • Character and Conduct: Applicants must have a clean criminal record and be of good character, demonstrating respect for Austrian laws and regulations.

Note:   It's important to note that these requirements are a general overview, and It's advisable to consult with our qualified professionals for the most up-to-date and detailed information regarding the Austrian Investment Program. This program can also change over the time period.
